Pear Pecan-Blue Cheese Pizza
Ingredients
2 T. butter
1 onion, halved and sliced thin
1 10-12 inch pizza dough, your own recipe or pre-made
Olive oil for brushing
1/4 c. The Prairie Gypsies’ Pear Pecan Jam
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 c. shredded fontina cheese
1/2 c. crumbled blue cheese
1/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425°.
Melt butter in a large skillet and sauté onion for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Set aside.
Lightly brush pizza crust with olive oil. Spread jam over crust and top with onions, cheeses and nuts. Bake on baking sheet or a preheated pizza stone for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is hot and bubbly. Let pizza rest a few minutes before slicing.
Makes one 10-12 inch pizza
